This year’s conference has several specialty sessions to meet the needs of our district membership. Here are just a few highlights:
New to the conference this year is a series of programming specifically for our colleagues that work at HBCUs. In this half-day forum, attendees will explore cultural appropriation vs. cultural appreciation in higher education and have candid conversations about race relations and how we can influence change in our narratives as well as widen our scope of donors we cultivate.
Community College Forum
Also new to the conference is a half-day forum for community college advancement professionals. This forum includes a session on how to create a fundraising proforma and a strategic campaign plan to present to your board that convinces them to invest in your foundation and take your advancement office to the next level. Attendees will also discuss how to leverage new and traditional communication tactics appropriately so voters have the facts before they cast ballots.
This group of sessions is reserved for chief advancement officers and key decision makers. Attendees will be joined by opening keynote speaker Scott Stratten for an “executive session” as well as hear Dr. Jim Henderson, President of the UL System, present on how they are thriving despite leading the nation in higher education disinvestment.
