Realizing that donor stewardship is the responsibility of the entire University not just the development office, Penn State adopted an institutional approach. As a result, the stewardship office was charged with a leadership role in designing and implementing a University-wide system to integrate necessary data for effective donor and gift management as well as efficient tracking of stewardship activities. Kathleen will discuss how this charge led to the creation of the eSteward system – a model providing a unifying interface for the many sources of stewardship-related data housed at Penn State and the ability to proactively track and monitor stewardship activities.
